Emilio Hernandez Diaz

Emilio Hernandez Diaz 87, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 surrounded by his family. Emilio was born in Ciudad Sabinas Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus Diaz Iruegas and Concepcion on October 6, 1933. Emilio met the love of his life Maria Angela Gallegos, together they had twelve children and were married 66 years. The family moved from Mexico to Texas to California and back to Texas. He taught himself to play guitar and wrote, sang, and recorded many songs. He was called El Charro Completo by many of his friends. Mr. Diaz is preceded in death by his son Jesus Diaz I. Emilio Diaz Senior is survived by his wife of 66 years Maria Angela Diaz; 11 children Carlos Diaz and wife Evelia, Concepcion Estrada and husband Jose, Emilio Diaz Jr. and wife Maria, Patricia Lechuga and husband Javier, Jesus Diaz and wife Rosa, Angelica Rodarte and husband Hugo, Delia Garza and husband Jorge, Velia Fernandez and husband Oscar, Juan Diaz and wife Jaqueline, Antonio Diaz and wife Mercedes, Gustavo Diaz and wife Beth; along with 37 Grandchildren and 43 Great Grandchildren. A Rosary service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 30 at 1:15 PM with burial to follow at Miles Cemetery.
