Gene Dedeker

Bobby "Gene" Dedeker, 85, of San Angelo, passed away April 20, 2021. He was born on Dec 15, 1935, in Mertzon, Texas to Ed and Geraldine Dedeker. He attended school and graduated from Big Lake High School in 1952. Upon graduation, he entered the Air Force and served during the Korean War. While in the military he was trained in communications and upon leaving the military, he went to work for GTE as a lineman where he met his future wife, Pat. He married Patricia Matthews on Jan 15, 1960 in Big Lake. He and Patricia raised their son, Scott, in Wall while he worked for GTE in San Angelo until 1994 when he retired. He enjoyed bowling and golf in his free time. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, his bother, Gary, and his parents Ed and Geraldine. He is survived by his son, Scott, and Scott's wife, Vickie, of Peyton, CO: and sister Jo Ann. Visitations will be held on Thurs April 22 from 5-7pm at Harper Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held April 23 at 10am at the Fairmount Cemetery with Pastor David Smith officiating.
