Lorene Michalewicz Wilde, age 89, of San Angelo, Texas passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 27, 2018. Lorene was born in Lott, Texas on April 6, 1929 to Adam and Pauline Hollas Michalewicz. After graduating Water Valley High School, she went on to work as a telephone operator in San Angelo, and farmed in Sweetwater, Muleshoe, Dimmit, Vancourt and Wall. She married Hubert Joseph Wilde on Nov 8, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in San Angelo, Texas, and together they raised a wonderful and large family. She attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family, and she will forever be missed by her family, friends and pets. Lorene is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hubert Wilde, and their children: son David (Pam) Wilde of Brenham and children Adrienne (Steven) Siemsglusz and Deanna (Jason) Schultz; daughter Kathleen (Les) Gabrysch of Blacksburg, Virginia and children John (Lacey Loftin) Gabrysch, Katie (Mike) Link and Emily (fiancé Henry Hilgendorf) Gabrysch; daughter Jeanie Grogan of San Antonio and children Michael (Svetlana) Grogan and Matthew Grogan; granddaughter Jessica Wilde; Tyler (Christine) Wright; great-grandchildren Dalton Dunfield, Colton, Brandon and Tegan Schultz; Addison, Bryce and Collin Siemsglusz; Joseph Gabrysch; James Link. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley (David) Halfmann of Robert Lee, Texas and Betty Simon of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Surviving in-laws include: Louise Michalewicz, Evelyn Michalewicz, Shirley Wilde, Ludwina Buxkemper, Lucy Wilde, Andrew and Charlene Wilde, Bill Knipp, Gerald and Linda Wilde, Lee Ray and Jean Wilde. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, son Daniel Hubert Wilde, son-in-law Joseph Grogan; brothers Ernest and James Michalewicz, sister Rose Schulz; in-laws Louis and Anna Wilde, Durwood Schulz, Bob Simon, Lawrence Wilde, Leroy Buxkemper, Monsignor Alvin Wilde and Bernadine Knipp. A Vigil Service will be held at 6 PM Sunday, December 30th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall. A celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Monday, December 31st at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall. She will be laid to rest at St. Ambrose Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
