Marianne Simpson

Marianne Simpson left her earthly bounds on July 20, 2021 surrounded by family after a short illness. She was born in Emporia, Kansas to Clark and Alice Stout on December 23, 1946. She graduated high school in Tooele, Utah and then attended nursing school in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marianne enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a RN specializing in Med/Surg and Critical Care areas. She also spent several years teaching with Howard College. She was passionate about teaching new students and believed in sharing her experiences and knowledge with the nursing community whenever the opportunity presented itself. Marianne was surrounded by family and close friends wherever she was. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and friends attending Shrine gatherings, her family at holidays and attending events that her kids and grandkids participated in. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Ditmore and husband, Charles of San Angelo, her son, Jon C. Simpson and Amanda Dunlap, of San Angelo, grandchildren Morgan Ditmore and fiancé, Katie Seibert of College Station, TX and Haley Ditmore of San Angelo. She was proceeded in death by her husband, and soulmate, J. Fred Simpson, her parents and her aunt, Clara Sall, who was her nursing mentor as well. Visitation will be at Harper Funeral Home Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00 -7:00. Services will be held at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm followed by burial at Lawnhaven Cemetery.
