Randell Glenn Awalt

October 10, 1950 — March 5, 2021

Randell Glenn “Randy” Awalt, 70, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021 in San Angelo. Randy was born October 10, 1950 in Coleman, Texas to Sidney and Lora Gene Marrs Awalt. He grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School. He attended Angelo State University for two years and then started working various jobs until going to work for Mitsubishi MU2 Aircraft Plant in San Angelo. Randy built interiors for the planes until their closing. Soon after, he went to work at American R.V., eventually becoming the Service Manager and working for over thirty years until his retirement in 2018. He married the love of his life, Louise Word on October 17, 1981 in San Angelo and they shared 39 beautiful years together. Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who devoted his life to his family and close friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed surfing the web, tinkering with R.C. airplanes and playing practical jokes. But his favorite thing to do of all time, was spending time with his family and raising his children and grandchildren and anyone else who needed it. He had a passion for taking care of the kids and making sure everything was very special for them during the holidays and every day. He loved regaling all the children with stories to pass the time and to them he was larger than life. Ten feet tall and bullet proof! His incredible love and passion for his family, his strength and strong guidance and rules for life will live on in our hearts for ever and we will dearly miss him! Randy was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Chase Lindemann. He is survived by his wife, Louise Awalt, of San Angelo; his children, Marji Morris and her husband Derek, of Robert Lee, TX and David Adams, of Fredericksburg, TX; his Grandchildren, Tye Morris and Ivy Morris; his Great Grandchildren, Bennett Morris, Bella Nuncia and Brogan Nuncio; his Sister, Cheryl Lindemann and her husband David, of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews; and Good Friends, Nolan Scott and Bud Smith. The Memorial Service for Randy will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel.
