Susan Ewing Pritchard

Our wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother passed away Wednesday, February 7, after a short illness.

Susan was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 25, 1947.

On May 17, 1969, she married her childhood sweetheart, William Pritchard, at Saint Lawrence O'Toole church in Hartford.

Susan was predeceased by her father, Francis, and mother, Dorothy Ewing, and father and mother-in­ law, Charles and Rosalyn Pritchard, all of Hartford.

She leaves her husband of nearly 55 years, William Pritchard; sons, William Pritchard Jr and his wife Rebeca of Lantana, Texas, and Sean Pritchard and his wife Jonie of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren, Sebastian and Susan, of Lantana; and granddaughter, Katherine of San Angelo.

In addition, her sister Frances Caldwell Ewing, nephew Marc Athorne of Windsor, Connecticut, brother­ in-law Charles, sister-in-law Donna Pritchard of Weatogue, Connecticut, and cousin Maralyn Rawlings Webb of Bel Air, Maryland.

Susan attended local schools in Connecticut, graduating from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Her career and husband's occupation took her to many states, including New Jersey, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, and, finally, San Angelo. Among the many positions held were director of nursing, hospital administrator of River Crest Hospital, and eventually, corporate risk manager with Universal Health Services, retiring in May 2013.

Susan's primary happiness was to enjoy her grandchildren, Sebastian, Susan, and Katherine. Other interests included traveling to New England for the numerous antique fairs and visiting local shops in Texas to add to her collection.

The family wishes to thank the many friends for their support and prayers.

Appreciation also for the compassion and care of the staff of Unit 5 North at Shannon Hospital.

A rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home on Monday, February 12, 2024. A Memorial mass will be held 10:00 AM at The Sacred Heart Cathedral on Thursday, February 15, 2024 with burial of cremated remains to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
