William David Green Sr.

William David Green Sr., 65, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2024. Born on November 7, 1958, in San Angelo to Marietta Reed Green and James H. Green, David, known to many as a devoted Christian and loving father, left a lasting legacy of faith, kindness, and service to his family and community.

David married the love of his life, Jimmi Jones, on December 19, 1980, at Johnson Street Church of Christ. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, and dedication. Known for his warm spirit, David cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. His children, David Green and fiancée Celest Chaidez, and Danalle Green, along with his treasured grandchildren Veronica and Andre Vaquera, brought him immense pride and joy.

David had a lifelong career as a machinist and managed Texas Tank Car Works. Recently, he fulfilled a dream by opening Green Machine Shop with his son, David Green Jr., continuing his passion for craftsmanship. He was also a former member of the San Angelo Rotary Club, where he contributed to his community with unwavering commitment.

While attending Angelo State University, William formed deep bonds with friends who became like family—Jerome, Craig, Kevin, Shauna, and Thorne Campbell. Their parents, Wesley and Bobbie Campbell treated William like an adopted son. David also met Glen O’Gorman through work and they were like brothers. These friendships endured through the years, enriching his life with laughter and shared memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marietta Reed Green and James H. Green, and his sister, Jeanette Green.

David is survived by his loving wife, Jimmi Green; his children, David Green and fiancée Celest Chaidez, and Danalle Green; his cherished grandchildren, Veronica and Andre Vaquera; brother, Jim Green Jr; and cousin William Scherz.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at Harper Funeral Home on November 1, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor his memory.
