Allen Lee Schneider

March 20, 1972 — August 21, 2018

Allen Lee Schneider of San Angelo passed away Tuesday morning, August 21st, 2018 at the age of 46. Allen was born March 20th, 1972 in Texarkana, Texas to Martin & Ruth Schneider. From birth Allen had a heart condition which prevented him from playing sports. He told his mother & father at a young age that if he were able to play sports that he would participate in everything he possibly could. However, since he could not, he said that he would instead compete academically in the classroom. It was his hard work and determination that earned him a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Texas A&M University in Texarkana. After college, at the age of 23, Allen left East Texas for West Texas. He began going door to door to employers in Abilene, and eventually walked into Abilene Sales Inc., where he learned of a job opportunity in San Angelo. He moved to San Angelo and began working at Angelo Bolt & Industrial Supply, Inc. September 1st of 1995, where he worked as a warehouse & delivery clerk until his death. Allen was a man of faith who was a lifelong Lutheran. He was a friendly, caring person that never failed to greet his co-workers each and every morning and enjoyed engaging in conversation at work. He would daily ask his co-workers about their kids and family members. Allen cared more for others than himself. Allen’s love of sports led him to studying sports almanacs in his free time. His retention of information earned him the title of “the walking sports almanac” among his co-workers. He literally knew just about everything a person could know about football or baseball. He could tell you almost every team that has won a world series or super bowl and what year it happened. He knew player’s names, positions and who they played for. Allen also had a passion for John Deere tractors, having grown up on a farm in East Texas. His interest in John Deere tractors led him attending many tractor pull competitions with his friend Bud Miller. Allen was a super hard worker, a very caring and loyal person who would be anyone’s friend. He will be dearly missed by everyone especially his friends and family at Angelo Bolt. We lost our dear friend, a son, a brother, an uncle, an employee and a co-worker. We love you Allen! May God bless you! Allen is survived by his parents Martin & Ruth Schneider of Brownwood, his brother Gary & wife Patricia Schneider, nephew and niece Zachary and Hanna Schneider of West, Texas. A memorial service honoring Allen will be held Saturday, August 25th 3:00 pm at Harper Funeral Home, located at 2606 Southland Blvd. in San Angelo. Interment will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in honor of Allen.
