Bernardino Gonzales, known affectionately as Bernie, died at his son’s home in San Angelo, Texas on July 9, 2016. He was 91 years old. Bernie was born May 20, 1925 in Los Lunas, New Mexico to Regino and Josefina (Gomez) Gonzales. He grew up in New Mexico. He married Bessie in New Mexico, and had over 55 years of happy wedded life with her. He was a faithful servant of Jehovah for over 70 years, was baptized on February 9, 1946 and served as a minister in various states over the years. Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie; his parents; his brothers Ramon Gonzales Sr., Pilar Gonzales, Jose Gonzales and sisters Rebecca Alvarado and Helen Blevins, and his daughter Donnie Madrid. He is survived by his daughter Tommie Johnson of Flagstaff, AZ; three sons: Bernie L. Gonzales and his wife Susan of Albuquerque, NM, Nathan D. Gonzales and his wife Yadira of Bedford, TX, and Manuel E. Gonzales and his wife Yolanda of San Angelo, TX; three sisters: Alice Sanchez of Belen, NM, Anita Chavez of Los Lunas, NM, and Maria Luz Bradshaw of Albuquerque, NM; one brother Donaciano Gonzales of Los Lunas, NM; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces. Memorial services will held on July 23, at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2605 Foothill Drive SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Wide Work, Jehovah’s Witnesses on their official website https://www.jw.org/apps/E_QBrNGR or at a local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The entire family would like to send a special "thank you" to the Hospice of San Angelo for all of the love, comfort and support they gave Bernadino.
