Cynthia Ann Bean

April 9, 1958 — October 28, 2024

Cynthia “Cyndy” Ann (Allen) Bean passed away unexpectedly in her home on October 28th, 2024, at the age of 66. Cyndy was the first of eight children born to Gearld & Eva Joyce Allen in Sweetwater, Texas. As the eldest, she was the built-in babysitter, peanut butter and jelly sandwich maker, and second mother to her seven brothers and sisters. There are many family stories of Cyndy’s solution to keeping the youngsters from messing up the house she had cleaned; tying them to the furniture until the real mom and dad got home. To her siblings, she was mom, dad, confidant, cheerleader, shoulder to cry on, and the best friend a person could ever have. In short, she was everything to all of us.

In her 66 years, Cyndy had many careers. She was a secretary, bookkeeper, eyeglass adjuster, bar maid, CAD operator, and, in the end, she kept the parolees at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in line. While working at Texas Test Fleet, she met the love of her life, George J. Bean. They married on October 31, 1986, and spent 38 loving years together. In addition to doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Cyndy was an avid golfer.

She leaves behind her son, Christopher (s. Amanada) Burkes, and Jann (s. Moria) Bean, brothers Delbert (s. Michele) Allen, Gearld (s. Rose) Allen, and Craig (s. Christy) Allen, sisters Georgetta (s. Tim) Lane, Angela-Allen-McCoy (s. James Mason) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, George Bean, parents Gearld and Eva Joyce Allen, and sisters Lori (Allen) Fry and Gerri (Allen) Mecham.

Funeral service is scheduled for Friday November 1, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, in her memory, please feel free to donate to the cancer foundation of choice as Cyndy was the caregiver to our four family members whose lives were cut short by this terrible disease.
