Daniel Scott Humphreys

Daniel “Danny” Scott Humphreys passed into eternity Saturday, August 13, 2016. He was 54. He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on March 20, 1962 but was a long-time resident of El Paso and San Angelo. He passed away quietly in his sleep in San Angelo, Texas. Danny was the fifth of five children born to Harry F. and Socorro L. Humphreys. He attended Irvin High School in El Paso and completed two years of Engineering at UTEP before joining the US Army. Danny served two tours of duty in Korea as a tank-turret specialist, and was honorably discharged. He had four step-children and two children with his former wife, Donna Franco Mallernee, also of San Angelo. His children are Jason, Jessica, Jamie, Jennie, Justin, and Jazmin. Danny is survived by his former wife Donna, and all of his children and grand-children. He is also survived by three of his siblings: Dr. Brian (and wife Diana) Humphreys of Lufkin, Texas; Norma Ann Tobin of Elk Grove, California, and Carl David Humphreys of El Paso. He was preceded in death by both his parents and brother George Wesley Humphreys. His nephews and nieces include Mikel Doyle of Bastrop, Vanessa Humphreys Gonzales of Round Rock, Eva Moser MacInnis of Woodland California, Bryan Moser of San Diego, Sophia Humphreys and Brian Humphreys, Jr. both of Lufkin, Texas. Danny was well known for his sense of humor and quick-witted one-liners. He enjoyed life, living it on his own terms. He had a mild personality and gentle demeanor. He liked music and sports and was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He had many friends in San Angelo who will miss him dearly. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 2309 A&M Drive, San Angelo, Texas on September 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM.
