David B Gonzales

David B. Gonzales went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 5th. He was born on April 25th, 1947, to Benjamin and Guadalupe in Sanderson, Texas. David married Maria Valadez on June 12, 1971, in Ozona, Texas. They were married for 53 years.

David began to work for GTE of the Southwest in July of 1969. He retired from Verizon in March of 2002. He then went to work part-time at Village East Retirement Community in April of 2002, retiring in April of 2017. David enjoyed working on cars and tinkering with his tools. David was also a long-life member of Johnson St. Church of Christ where he, along with his wife, were involved with funeral meals.

David is survived by his wife, Maria of San Angelo. He is also survived by a number of brother and sister in laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Ben Gonzales, and sisters Amelia Gonzales, Elsie Lara and a niece, Debra Gonzales.

The Gonzales family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice. Special thanks to Delaine, Stephanie, Kelsey, Darlene, and Rose for their caring attitude shown to David. Special thanks to his niece and nephew, Ben and Lisa for helping take care of David while under hospice care.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Johnson St. Church of Christ, with Dr. Tommy King, officiating.
