Wayne Hudson passed away on October 5, 2018 at the age of 82. He was a rancher and shared his love of the land with his family and friends. He believed that God gives you an obligation to improve what he gives you. Wayne continuously worked to improve his land and passed this love on to his sons. Wayne Hudson began working in the dairy business with his parents in the fall of 1955. In August of 1957 Wayne married the love of his life, Wanda Wuistinger. For the next 25 years they worked in the dairy business which was a 24/7 job. During this time Wayne became involved in raising registered Simmental cattle. Wayne worked with other West Texas cattle breeders and was the first president of the West Texas Simmental Association. He and Gene Newman worked to establish the Simmental heifer show at the San Angelo Stock Show. Wayne enjoyed cattle trading and attending livestock sales where he visited with friends. His continued work with livestock and their needs led him to start a livestock molasses supplement business, Hudson Livestock Supplements. Wayne and Wanda had two son’s Terry and Ronnie Hudson. Both sons learned, from Wayne, the value of hard work and a love for the land. Wayne was very proud of both of his sons. Wayne and Wanda enjoyed entertaining and seeing others have a good time. The Hudson’s had an annual Fourth of July event for about 15 years which Wayne loved being able to see his friends and their families. Wayne had been ill for the past several years with many hospital stays. He was wonderfully cared for by his wife Wanda. Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years Wanda, his son Terry Hudson and wife Ana of Miles, his son Ronnie Hudson and wife Brande of Miles. His grandchildren Bradley Hudson, Kambrey Moneyhon and her husband Robert, Clay Hudson, Halle Hudson, Jake Hudson and great granddaughter Presley Moneyhon. He is survived by his brother Jerry Hudson and wife Teresa of San Marcos. Wayne will be missed by many and his legacy of the love he shared for his family, friends and the land. He served as an inspiration and mentor to many and his quick wit and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
