Emma Valdez Soto

Emma Valdez Soto went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Brady, TX on February 11, 1934 to Juan and Francisca Valdez. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanette Holguin, husband Henry G. Soto, and great granddaughter Cierra Holguin. Survivors include Diana Ramirez of Ft. Worth; Henry Soto, Bernice Cardenas, Debbie Soto of San Angelo; Opie (Yvonne) Soto of Little Elm; Frances Alcocer, Orlando Soto of San Angelo; John (Andrea) Soto of Dallas; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a sister Dora Longoria of Santa Ana, CA and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Roberto Soto, Jerry Perez, Abraham Rodriguez, Joe Garza, Rowdy Garza, Eugene Martinez, Orlando Carrillo and Armando Moncada. Honorary pallbearers will be David Cano and Edward Rodriguez. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. There are no words adequate enough to say THANK YOU to Dr. Cerna, Dr. Blanc, Dr. Coats, Dr. Melott, and the nurses at Shannon 5N for the care they provided for our mother. To Cecilia Najera and Jesse Aguirre, your love and friendship meant the world to our mom. She was elegant, shy, loving, sarcastic, funny, and beautiful inside and out. We will miss her hugs, laugh, stories, and wisdom. We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her husband Henry and loved ones who have passed (including Elvis Presley, Paul Walker and Juan Gabriel.)
