Ernest Charles "Ernie" Dixon

Ernest Charles Dixon (Ernie) died on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the young age of 57. Ernest is survived by his two children, Ashley Dixon of Huntsville, Texas; and Jonathon Cody Dixon, his wife Megan, and their children Case, Corbin, and Colton of Huntsville, Texas. He is also survived by his two step-children, Bryan Ramsey, his wife Heather, and their children Hunter, Abbie, and Caleb of Frankston, Texas; and Whitney Buckley, her husband Josh, and their children Taelynn, Sophia, and Rhyan of LaPoynor, Texas. Ernie is survived by his parents, Edwin and Frances Dixon of San Angelo, Texas; and his sisters, Sheri Rychlik, her husband Jerry, and their children of San Angelo, Texas; and Sheryl Vondra, her husband Charles, and their children of Lovelady, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Ernie was born on June 6, 1960, in Merkel, Texas. He graduated from Central High School of San Angelo in 1978; Sam Houston State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Corrections; and the University of Phoenix in 2008 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is remembered by his family as a father who made life look seemingly easy. He was an extremely hard worker, a trait he also passed on to his children. Ernie was looking forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren after a long career in the criminal justice profession. A viewing will be held at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Ernie’s life. A private family graveside service will be held in Merkel, Tx.
