Ethel Ann Roy

Ethel Ann Roy, 71, of San Angelo, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born December 27, 1945 in New Haven, Connecticut to Frank and Frankie Lamb Malenowsky. She grew up in Fort Worth and attended school there. Ann married the love of her life, Ed Roy and they shared 41 beautiful years together. They moved to San Antonio for a few years and later moved to San Angelo where they made their home and raised their two children. Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. As a caregiver, she also cared for other’s children and the elderly. Ann was a very giving and loving person by nature and she loved caring for others. She was very selfless and would give anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it. She always had a positive attitude and sunny disposition which made it easy for her to care for people. Ann was a very creative person as well, and loved arts and crafts of any kind. In the same respect, she also had a passion for life and loved being in the great outdoors and playing sports, especially softball. Her biggest passion was her family. She always loved having family gatherings and going places with everyone and most of all spending time with her granddaughter. Her life and her love for her family will remain in our hearts forever! Ann will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Ed Roy, of San Angelo; her children, son, Paul Roy and his wife Karrie, and daughter, Heather Gonterman and her husband Matt, and her only Granddaughter, Chyann Liberti Betts, all of San Marcos; Her sisters, Paulette Arzate and her husband Joe, of San Angelo and Linda Briseno and her husband Lou, of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 25, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Scott Melton, officiating. The Graveside Service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at San Marcos City Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be Dale Dye, Stephen Briseno, Larry Glenn, Mark Arzate, Garrett Arzate and Caitlin Arzate. Honorary pallbearer for the service will be Mike Arzate.
