Franklin D. “Frank” Powell, 84, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in San Angelo. Frank was born October 10, 1933 in Colorado City, Texas to Wid and Arizona Yarborough Powell. He married Neldarine McCarley on January 28, 1952 and they shared 65 amazing years together. Frank and Nelda moved to San Angelo, Texas where they made their home and raised five beautiful children. Frank graduated from the police academy and became a police officer with the San Angelo Police Department in 1959. Aside from the career he was passionate about, he adored spending time with his family and loved being a part of raising many more children besides his own. In his spare time, Frank loved photography, wood working and loved researching and carrying out just about any project that needed doing. He was instrumental in mapping out the parking and driving area of Central High School that is still used today. Frank was a strong man of faith and loved the Lord. He was a charter member of Edmund Boulevard Baptist Church. He loved his church home and was very active in his role as a deacon, a trustee, and a treasurer at different times for over 40 years.
