George "Teddy" Whitacre

George Oliver “Teddy” Whitacre, 74, of San Angelo, formerly of Martinsburg, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in San Angelo. George was born November 3, 1942 in Martinsburg, West Virginia to Bruce and Lydia Williams Whitacre. He grew up in Martinsburg and graduated from Musselmann High School. George served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for five years. He married Constance Diane Moessner on June 11, 1975 in Miami, FL., and they shared 41 beautiful years together. George was a truck driver for 40 years and worked for several companies during that time. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and his profession. One of his great passions was collecting coins. He loved joking and kidding around with everyone he knew. George always put others first and was a very thoughtful and giving person who always went out of his way for others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. George was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Whitacre, of San Angelo; his daughter, Raquel Viands, of West Virginia; his Step-sons, Bobby Slusser, of Justin, TX, and Mark Slusser, of Houston, TX; his Grandchildren, Megan Gardiner and her husband Brian, of North Carolina, and Sera Slusser, of Justin, TX; 2 Great Grandchildren, Luke and Noah Gardiner, of North Carolina; his Brothers, Freddy Whitacre and his wife Joy, of Charles Town, WV, and Timmy Whitacre. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends he held very dear to his heart. There will be no services at this time.
