Gerardo “Jerry” Navarro, 65, of San Angelo went to be with his Lord and savior on Friday, October 20, 2017 in San Angelo. Jerry was born September 1, 1952 in San Angelo, Texas to Paul and Maria Renteria Navarro. He grew up in San Angelo and after graduating from high school, attended college for two years. Jerry held numerous jobs in his lifetime, working in a cabinet shop for some time and as a warehouseman at Ethicon. After retiring from Ethicon, he worked for Concho Carpet One for many years. Jerry married the love of his life Yolanda Luera on July 13, 1984 and they shared 33 beautiful years together. He was a loving son, husband and father who devoted his life to his family, his friends and helping others. Jerry was a man of great faith and was a longtime member of Word of Life Church where he sang in the choir and was in numerous plays for the church. Aside from spending time at his church, he loved joking around with family and friends and he also loved oil painting. Christian art, background scenes and even some cartoons were what he loved to paint. Jerry was a musician and loved playing his guitar as well. Most of all, he loved helping others and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. His life and his legacy of love in helping others will live on in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss him! Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Maria, and his son, Jason Scott Navarro. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda L. Navarro, of San Angelo; his Daughter, Jolinda Navarro and Nanette, of Lubbock, TX; his Grandchildren, JoJo Navarro, Landin Terry and Alexis Terry; his Father, Paul Navarro, of San Angelo; his Sisters, Sylvia Fuentes and her husband Albert, of San Angelo, Elvia Sanchez and her husband Edward, of San Angelo, Elda Nava and her husband David, of San Angelo, Elisa Parra and her husband Miguel, of Arizona and Elaine Navarro, of San Angelo. He is also survived by his Aunt, Anita Martinez and her husband Aurelio, of San Angelo and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. The Wake Service will be 6:00 P.M., Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Word of Life Church with Pastor Julian Falcon officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be Devan Nixon, Johnny Ray Luera, Gilbert Luera, Christopher Fuentes, Ryan Hernandez and Landin Terry.
