Grover W. "Chip" Lightfoot Iii

Grover W “Chip” Lightfoot III passed away on December 9. 2020. He was born on November 10, 1950, to Grover Jr. and Mabel (Brown) Lightfoot. He grew up in San Angelo, graduating from Central High School in 1968. He attended University of North Texas and later graduated from Angelo State University in 1979 with a degree in Computer Science. He met Carol Gully at ASU in the punch card room, and they married on August 1, 1980. He worked for GTE and then Verizon until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, his son Will Lightfoot and wife Amy, and his daughter Erin Reisner and husband Damian as well as three grandchildren, Liam and Amelia Lightfoot and Aidan Reisner. He is survived by his closest cousin Sally Roach. He is survived by brothers-in-law Allen, Kenny, and Gene Gully and sister-in-law Elaine Beach and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents. Chip spent many happy hours shooting dove with his hunting buddies, Johnny, Steve, Gary, Aubrey and Joe. He delighted in cooking and finding new recipes to try. He and Carol shared 40 years in loving marriage, and he was so proud of Will and Erin and loved them very much. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 12 at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Concho Valley Home for Girls or your favorite charity.
