Gwendoly Dirickson Stroud

Gwendoly Dirickson Stroud went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2025 at the age of 77. A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, February 15 at 4 :00 PM at Harper Funeral Home.

Gwendoly was born on September 16, 1947, to Harry Nelson and Jewel Lee Townsend Boyd. She grew up in West Texas and moved to San Angelo later in life to be with family. Better known as Gwen to everyone who loved her, she raised three children. Gwen always volunteered to be a room mother, loved to dance, go antiquing, and spend time with family and friends. Later in life she had a fulfilling career as an executive assistant for Safety-Kleen.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Jewel Boyd, her son Thomas Dirickson, her sisters, Dorothy Teague (husband IG), Norma Boyd, Barbara Blackledge (husband Randell), and her granddaughter Halee Harper.

She is survived by her son, Roger Dirickson (wife Paula); daughter, Adra Enos (husband Gary); and step-daughter Marretta Hernandez (husband Alfonso). Gwen was called Nana by her eight grandchildren: Priscilla Rhoades (husband Aaron), Jennie Carboni (husband Chris), Toni Tucker (husband Nathan), Tanner Dirickson (wife Danielle), Trey Dirickson (wife Abbie), Grace Dirickson, Bryanna Dirickson, Hunter Harper, and Jarrett Dirickson. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and brother, Joe Boyd (wife Diane), and very close niece and nephews, Debbie Stevens, Jack Biddle Jr, and Lance Biddle.

Because of Gwen's generous heart, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
