Herman Clyde Mackey, Jr.

In Loving Memory of Herman C. Mackey, Jr. Sunrise: January 23, 1941 – Sunset: April 30, 2016 On April 30, 2016, the curtain of Herman Clyde Mackey Junior’s life was closed. There will be no more wakeup calls, no more sports channels and no more checking up on everyone. No more seeing to everyone else’s needs when he had needs that needed to be met. Oh, how his presence will be missed on this side. Herman Clyde Mackey, Jr. was born in Houston, Texas on January 23, 1941, to the union of Herman C. Mackey, Sr. and Rosa Mae Parker. He attended Elementary School and High School in Houston, TX. Herman was united in holy matrimony to Susan McGregor on March 26, 1994. He worked as a long distance truck driver for JB Hunt and he owned Unity Trucking Company for a number of years. Herman was a dedicated member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ for many years where he served as a Board Member, church custodian, and member of the praise team and the Brotherhood. Herman had a very beautiful voice and loved to sing with the Men of Praise singing group. They sang in churches all over San Angelo and other cities, glorifying God. He was also an active member of Kingdom Men. Herman was so gifted musically. He could make a harmonica talk. His hobbies included fishing, rebuilding cars, and art. Herman leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Susan McGregor-Mackey, mother Victorine Mackey; daughter, Renea Smith (Anthony) of Houston, Texas; sons Kertron Mackey and Kirkland Mackey of San Angelo, Texas; brother Fred D. Parker; three sisters, Carolyn Mackey, Donna Matthews, Karen Green; two special daughters, Charletta Ehioghae and Dinkana Seldon; special mother-in-law, Gladys Hicks of San Angelo, Texas; two grandsons; one great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
