Jack Harrell

Jack Harrell, 84, formerly of Sanderson, Texas passed from this life on May 30, 2017 in a local nursing home. Jack and his twin brother, Frank, were born to pioneer Terrell County ranchers, Frank and Babe Harrell on July 18, 1932. Jack was a true west Texas Rancher his entire adult life. However, he also excelled in an additional job when he joined the USDA Wildlife Services in 1994 as a government trapper. Jack retired from there with honors in 2004. His love for God and the Lord’s church were paramount in his faithfulness, teachings and example. He was honored to serve as an elder, twice, at the Northside Church of Christ in Del Rio, Texas, and more recently at the Green Meadow Church of Christ in San Angelo. Preceding him in death were his 4 siblings, Helen Garner, Aubry, Jake and Frank Harrell, his son-in-law, Patrick Ogden, two very special nephews, James Garner and Kendrick Harrell, and his loving niece, Terry Upchurch. Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ginger Harrell; his son, Dale Harrell; his daughter’s, Roxanne Ogden and Jo Lynn Harrell; 6 Grandchildren, Kinney Harrell, Kipp Harrell, Keli Harrell Frizzell, Ryan Ogden, Lane Ogden and Corby Ogden; and 5 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by a lifelong, faithful and loyal fellow rancher friend, David Mitchell, of Sulphur, Ok. The Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel, 2606 Southland Blvd., in San Angelo, with Boyd Jennings officiating.
