Jacquelyn (Jackie) Dean Smith was born in Lynwood (Los Angeles County), California from the union of the late Marva Thomas and the late Jack Dean, Jr. Jackie was raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to San Angelo, TX in 1996. She received her Texas Cosmetology License in 2000; was a graduate from the Sonship School of the Firstborn, 2012; and received an Associates of Sciences Degree in Business from Howard College, 2017. Her ministry and gifts blossomed in San Angelo, Texas as she became a well-known hairstylist operating in her blessing called Jackie's Season. The Lord called her home on the morning of December 2, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Earline Thomas; brothers, William Barbee, III, and Fred Hayden; and a sister, Lashonda Hayden. She leaves the following family and friends to cherish her memory: a son, Joseph Brooks, Jr, and sister, Marvanell Bracey, with nephew, Jaden Sadler and niece, Jeniyah Heinze, all of San Angelo Texas; brother, Jack Dean, III, of Washington State; nephew, Antonio Gallegos and niece, Blake Hyden, both from Los Angeles, California; and a host of spiritual brothers and sisters, friends, and clients. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Paul Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX. Burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
