James Roger Harriss

James Roger Harriss, 78, of San Angelo, TX died on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his residence in San Angelo. James was born Sunday, June 18, 1939 in Midland, Texas to Roger Q. Harriss, Jr. and Hallie Faye Ramey Harriss. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He married Carolyn King on August 26, 1961. James worked in the Petroleum Industry for Shell Oil Company as a Surveying Permitter and retired from there. The Graveside Service will be 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M., at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Richardson officiating. James is survived by his children, Dorothy Amos, of San Angelo, Penny Waller and her husband Randy, of Dyersburg, TN, Margaret Ruthberg and her husband Joe, of San Angelo, Daisy Harriss, of San Angelo and Jennifer Winans, of San Angelo; 12 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; and his Brothers, Glenn Brooks Harriss, and Bobby Del Harriss, both of San Angelo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carolyn and one daughter, Valerie Fay Aulman. Pallbearers for the Service will be Brian Banks, Rodrick Banks, Dusty Banks, Joe Ruthberg, Raymond Waller and Anthony Lawhone.
