John Cheatham

John Wesley Cheatham, 56, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at home after a lengthy illness. He was the first born son to Tony Oliver and Fayla Rae Blasdell Cheatham on September 2, 1960. John married Amy Diane Harlin on February 18, 1977. They had a daughter, Jennifer Diane. John married Barbara Butler Cosper on May 29, 1992 in Christoval, Texas. He worked his entire life in the oilfield as a gas compressor mechanic and pumper. He retired in 2014 due to his health. John was also a volunteer firefighter in Eldorado for seventeen years. John loved to fish, hunt game and rattlesnakes. He also loved golf, and took great pride in his vegetable garden each year. He was also proud of his 12 grandchildren: 3 boys and 9 girls: Jamy, Josey, Joany, Leeland, Kaydence, Christian, Keldon, Chloe, Morgan, Ava, Annabel and Harker. He is survived by his spouse Barbara, his daughters: Jennifer Diane Halliburton (John); Jacqueline Rae Pace (Jason) of Brownwood. His children Clinton Don Cosper of Ft. Stockton, Christina Cosper Zitting(Parley), Whit Cosper(Rebecca) of Edmond, OK. His mother, Fayla Rae Blasdell Cheatham and his maternal grandmother Fay Imogen Donaldson Blasdell. His sister Vicky Lynn Marchese and her children: Tasha Luckeydoo (Michael) and Joseph of Florida. His brother Erik Edward Cheatham (Jennifer), their three sons Dustin and spouse Tollie, Brandon and Zackery. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Amy, his father Tony, his paternal grandparents Richard E. and Allie Velma Trotter Cheatham. His maternal grandfather, Raymond Irving Blasdell. A visitation will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. The Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Fairmount Cemetery.
