LaNelle Sherrod, 91, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in San Angelo. LaNelle was born February 26, 1925 in Munday, Texas to Horace Alvin and Jessie Mathews Clowdis. She married Clyde Willie Sherrod on April 10, 1946 and they shared 25 years together before he preceded her in death. LaNelle worked at Ethicon for over 30 years as a hand winder and she enjoyed working there. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years and loved her church family. Lanelle was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and her legacy of love will live on in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clyde. She is survived by her daughter, Sondra Valdez, of Menard, TX; her Grandchildren, David Owen, Jim Owen, Michael Owen, Tommy Sherrod and Wendon Sherrod; 15 Great Grandchildren; her Brothers, Wendon Clowdis, of Mansfield, TX, and Don Clowdis and his wife Carlene, of San Angelo; a special niece, Marsha Roche and numerous other special nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Rogers officiating. the burial will follow at Miles Cemetery in Miles, TX.
