Lou Hargraves

Louis Allen Hargraves, 86, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2016, in San Angelo. Louis (Lou) was born August 18, 1929 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Louise and Harold Hargraves. Louis served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1953. On November 7, 1953 he wed Flora Galbreath in San Marcos at the Westover Baptist Church. They moved to San Angelo in October of 1959 with Sterrett Electrical. Lou was proud to serve the citizens of San Angelo through his affiliations with Sterrett, the San Angelo Emergency Corp., Lindell Avenue Baptist Church (Deacon), Edmund Blvd. Baptist Church (Deacon), and the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, where he retired after 34 years of service. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Flora Hargraves of San Angelo; his daughter Amy Foerster and son-in-law, Eric of Houston; sisters, Ruth Padgett of Dundee, FL and Carol Ann Thornhill of Little Rock, AR; brother, Harold Hargraves of Tampa, FL and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends who mourn his passing with great sorrow. Lou was loved and respected by many for his service to others as well as his love and dedication to the community. A Funeral will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Harper Funeral Home at 6:00 pm, Rev. Jim Benson officiating with a visitation to follow.
