Lt. Colonel Charles H. Weedon

San Angelo - Lt. Colonel Charles H. Weedon, 76 died on October 10, 2021 at Shannon Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1945, in Fredrick Maryland, the son of Wesley and Margret (Gilbert) Weedon. Lt. Colonel Weedon graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1963. Following graduation, he attended the University of Maryland- Eastern Shore and received a Bachelor of Science in Math. In college he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity DeltaNu Chapter 64 , R.O.T.C, and joined the U.S. Air Force as an officer. He served his country for 24 years. He married his soul mate Christine Weedon in Sumter, South Carolina and settled in San Angelo, Texas after he retired. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in January. Lt. Colonel Weedon was also a Deacon and member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of NAACP, UGSA Umpire Association, and very active in San Angelo’s community. In addition to his parents, Lt. Colonel Weedon was predeceased by his two brothers John Weedon and David Weedon. Surviving in addition to his wife Christine Weedon, his son, Gregory Rogers of San Angelo; daughters, Yvette Duncan of Justin, TX, and Sonya Jeffery of Justin, TX. Five grandchildren, Christopher Weedon, Joshua Lacy, Ariana Aguilar, Ashley Jeffery, Krislyn Jeffery, and two great grandchildren Nathan Charles Weedon and Khiya Reign Jeffery, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing in remembrance will be held 5pm – 7pm Friday, October 15, 2021, at Harper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX. The service will be held 2pm Saturday October 16, 2021 at Glen Meadows Baptist Church 6002 Knickerbocker Rd. San Angelo, TX. Those who wish to remember Colonel Weedon in a special way, may send gifts to Galilee Missionary Baptist Church the day of the funeral. Burial will be held on October 26, 2021 at 1:30 PM at DFW National Cemetery.
