Marian Quattlebaum Davis

August 5, 1920 — June 17, 2017

Marian Quattlebaum Davis, 96, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born August 5, 1920 in Canyon, Texas to John and Anna Emma Butterfield Quattlebaum. She grew up in the Panhandle of Texas and after graduating from high school, moved to Washington, D.C. and went to work for the United States Naval Department for two years during WWII. Marian met the love of her life, J.C. Davis and they were married on January 30, 1943. Marian went to work for the telephone company in 1947 which was the second love of her life. She and J.C. lived in numerous cities during their careers, eventually settling in San Angelo. Marian retired from Verizon in July of 1987 as a Management Instructor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who devoted her life to her family. Marian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and always put Him first in her life. After retirement, Marian spent time with her family and friends. In her spare time, she loved reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting. However, her favorite pastime was telling stories. She loved telling stories to her family and friends. Marian was a perfectionist by nature and was a force to be reckoned with, but her passion for life allowed her stories to shine when she told them and her laughter always filled the room wherever she went. Her amazing life and love will forever remain in our hearts and we will dearly miss her! Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, J.C. Davis, her Sisters, Evelyn Crawford and Doris Landry, her brothers, John and Bill Quattlebaum and her son-in-law, Jeff Branon. She is survived by her Daughters, Julia Dianne Cochran and her husband James and Teresa Branon, both of San Angelo; her Grandchildren, Lisa Whitlock and her husband William, of Kennesaw, GA, Jimmy Cochran III and his wife Stacy, of Canton, GA, and Michael Cochran, of Kennesaw, Ga; 9 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; her sister, Ann Harvell, of Alvin, TX; and her nieces and nephews, Gregory Harvell and his wife Shirley, of Sweeney, TX., David Crawford and his wife Toni, of Spur, TX., Brenda Staneland, of Spur, TX and Wayne Richey, of Idaloo, TX.
