Marilyn Marguerite Fannin, who would have been 82 years old on May 13, exited this life peacefully on Thursday May 4, 2017, surrounded by her husband, daughters and close friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 7, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Harper Funeral Home: 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX. Her memorial service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Monday, May 8, at 10 am. A graveside service will be held after the memorial service at the Sunset Memorial Gardens at 3 pm in Odessa, Texas. Marilyn was born in Tampa, Florida in 1935. She moved with her parents and her brother to Odessa, Texas. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1953, and met the love of her life, Bill Fannin. She and Bill married on July 23, 1960, and were planning to celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary this year. Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, and she was a conscientious and committed administrative assistant during her career. She retired from San Angelo Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counsel and the Women’s and Children’s Halfway house in 2005. Marilyn is survived by her husband Billy Charles Fannin, her three daughters and their families: Mindy Fannin of San Angelo, Elaine Tate of Plano and her husband William Tate; and Jacque Moore of Midland and her husband Todd Moore. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy: David James of Los Angeles, Rebekah Tate of New York City, NY, and William (Billy) Tate of Denton, TX, and Branson Moore of Hobbs, NM. She is also survived by two sisters: Darla Darville of Portland, OR, and Marsha Scott of Austin, TX. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother Robert Wayne Darville of Odessa, Texas. She loved and was loved by both her immediate family and a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your donation in her name to either the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of San Angelo, or the Women and Children’s Halfway house.
