Martin M. "Bucho" Muños

January 7, 1942 — October 29, 2024

Martin M. “Bucho” Muños, of San Angelo, passed away October 29, 2024 in Big Spring, Texas at the age of 82. He was born on January 7, 1942 in Corbette, Texas to Manuel Muños and Susan Peck.

Martin was the first of six of children. He grew up in the state of Texas and as a teen joined the United States Army. He served in Vietnam, Germany and was later stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. During his service Martin received the National Defense Service Medal and was a certified Marksman (M-16 Rifle) and an Expert (M-60 Machine Gun). He was honorably discharged in August of 1975 with the rank of Private First Class, SP4 – Specialist 4th Class.

After the Army Martin spent time in Kansas before returning to his home state of Texas. Over the years he held many occupations ranging from gas station attendant to meat inspector with various other trades and skills picked up along the way. He always kept busy and took great pride in any work he was performing.

A hard worker, Martin also enjoyed his free time, keeping home and yard and enjoying the outdoors. An avid fisherman, he loved to go camping and spent many summers by the lake appreciating the splendor of nature. When home, walking was a past time, and when he could, travel was something he enjoyed. He was a big fan of Westerns and there was a time when he liked to get up early and peruse the weekend yard sales shrewdly hunting for deals and treasures.

Martin will be remembered as a man who was humorous, very smart, and very strict.

He is survived by his spouse Eleticia Muños; his sons Manuel, Richard, Martin, Larry and Dino; his daughter Cindy; muchos grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings Elvira, Armando, Anita, Estella, and Jesus “Chuy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Manuel “Lulo.”

Martin will be available for viewing on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
