With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our precious Mary Lorraine “Lorri” Jenkins, who left this earth suddenly the morning of February 23, 2025.
Lorri was born on December 30, 1956. She grew up in Big Lake in a neighborhood with 13 first cousins and Grandma (Mary Emma Stout) and Grandpa (S.E.Stout, Jr.) on the same block.
Lorri McKinney and Mike Jenkins married on October 8, 1976 and would have celebrated 49 years this year. They had their 3 children who also grew up on the same block in Big Lake.
Lorri loved her family, church, friends, and community. She loved being “Grandma” to her four grandkids, Joshua, Christoper, Keira, and Jace. They brought such joy to Lorri and Mike.
We will remember Lorri by her love, kindness, and caring heart. She loved teaching and working at the Big Lake First Methodist Church. The church is a block from her house where she grew up and she continued the tradition of raising her family in that church. She was blessed to have her Bunko friends every month for many years. Lorri touched so many lives and will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The celebration of Lorri’s life will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.at the Big Lake First Methodist Church Sanctuary where friends and family will gather to honor her sweet spirit and cherished memories. A visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church. Graveside will be held at Glen Rest Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. after the service. Immediately following the graveside service, there will be a luncheon provided by Reagan County Wild Game Supper Board Members at the Reagan County 4H Barn after graveside. 1430 North Ohio Street Big Lake, Texas.
Lorri is survived by her husband, Mike Jenkins, her three children, Rachel Beaver (Jonathan), Scott Jenkins, and Kayla Neatherlin (Blake), her grandchildren, Joshua Beaver, Christopher Beaver, Keira Neatherlin, and Jace Neatherlin, her brother, Robert Leonadis, III “Pete” McKinney (Patrice), sister, Cheryl deCordova (Aubrey), brother-in-law, Tommy Baker (Sylvia), sister-in-law, Cheryl Baker, her nephews and nieces, Robert Leonadis IV “Leo” McKinney (Leigh), Emily deCordova, Clay deCordova (Shelia), Michelle Jenkins, Amanda Villarreal (Luis), Garrison Jenkins (Carrie), Cody Baker, Calvin Baker (Ashley), Geanna Coker (Ethan), her uncle, Butch Stout (Sharon), and numerous grand nephews and nieces.
Lorri was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Evelyn McKinney, Jr., her grandparents, Seth Elwood and Mary Emma Stout, Jr. R.L. “Lonnie” McKinney, Sr. and Nilla Coates McKinney Balkum, brother-in-law, Gene Baker.
The family has designated donations to be made to 1st Methodist Church ROCK Youth Group 501 N California Avenue Big Lake, Texas or to any charitable organization you prefer.
