Mike "Big Daddy" Hartman

Mike “Big Daddy” Hartman passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020. Mike was born on October 18, 1948 to Harold and Constance Hartman in Austin, Texas. Mike grew up here in San Angelo and loved playing catcher in Little League. Mike went to San Angelo High School but joined the Marines where he served for ten and half years. Mike met the love of his life Becky Hodapp and they were married June 18, 1969 at First Presbyterian Church in San Angelo. In his time in the Marines he was deployed to Vietnam two separate times. Once he was discharged from the Marines Mike went back to school at Angelo State University. He moved his family to Odessa for fourteen years for work after that time the family moved back to San Angelo. Mike retired from the post office after 27 years of service. In his free time Mike loved watching his kids and grandkids playing sports going to as many games as he could. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Con Hartman, Granddaughter Sydney Hartman. Mr. Hartman is survived by his wife of fifty one years Becky Hartman, three Sons Lance Hartman and wife Linda, Stephen Hartman and wife Lisa, Erik Hartman and wife Jennifer, eight grandchildren Brian Hartman and wife Alyssa, Chantel Hartman and fiancé Albert Valles, Tori Hartman and fiancé Kyle Campbell, Ethan Hartman, Jackson Hartman, Adam Hartman, Lindsay Hartman, and Nathan Hartman, five Great Grandchildren Emma Thompkins, Chance Thompkins, Paisley Valles, Noah Valles, and Ryder Valles, Brother-In-Law Harold Hodapp and wife Nancy, Sister In Law Karla Snell and husband Richard, Sister in Law Melanie Connery and husband Kevin, Brother in Law Chuck Hodapp and wife Gayle, Sister in Law Gwen Parsons, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at 1:00pm in the Wood Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo.
