Nancy Evans Brown, 85, passed away peacefully in her home in San Angelo on March 4, 2018. She is survived by her children Deborah Brown Grissen, Carolyn Brown Winston and husband John Randolph Winston III, and Marshall Evans Brown and wife Susan Stewart Brown, her grandchildren John Randolph Winston IV and wife Chrysti Winston, Angie West, Nancy Winston Henson, Andrew West, Anne Winston, Kate Brown, Madeline Brown, and Campbell Brown, and her great-granddaughters Taylor, Isabel, Evans, and Caroline, and her brother-in-law Howard Collins of Uvalde. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Campbell and Thelma Lee Evans, her sister Joanne Evans Collins, and her brother Robert Campbell Evans Jr. Mrs. Brown was born April 8, 1932 in Houston, Texas. In 1950 she married and moved to San Angelo and was a lifelong resident. She devoted her life to family and enjoyed many reunions, celebrations, and travels near and far. She enjoyed walking by the ocean on family trips, playing bridge, tending to her beautiful yard, and many beloved pets over the years. She had taught Sunday School at the First Christian Church and was a lifelong member. She volunteered for Meals for the Elderly and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Brown will be remembered for her deep love of family, her grace and her faith, and her extraordinarily sweet nature. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, this Thursday, the 8th of March, at one o’clock. Arrangements are with Harper Funeral Home.
