Norma "Jean" Skiff

October 21, 1930 — December 23, 2017

Jean Skiff, 87, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 23rd, 2017. Jean was born October 21, 1930 in Lorraine, TX to Edward Moore and Lillian Gill Ross. Jean attended San Angelo College before going to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone. Jean later married Carl Skiff, Sr. and had four children, before returning to work at GTE, where she was affectionately known as “pie baker”. Jean loved to bake, garden and read, and had a beautiful smile, feisty spirit and loved to laugh. Survivors include oldest son Carl Skiff, Jr. and daughter Becky (Tim) Jones. Also surviving are Jean’s grandchildren Carl “Scooter” Skiff III, Danny Skiff, Clay Skiff, Bailey Skiff, Garrett Hollway and Amber Jones. Also surviving are great grandchildren Abby Skiff and Danielle Skiff. Jean is also survived by older brother Joe (Joyce) Moore. She was preceded in death by parents Lillian Ross and Edward Moore, sister Vernie Moore, brother Bert Ross and son’s Lonnie Skiff and Bill Skiff. Graveside services are Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Harper Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice and New Haven Memory Care for the care and support shown to our Mom. “To love a person is to learn the song in their heart, and to sing it to them when they have forgotten” (Anne Garborg). Mom, we love you and will miss you deeply. We remember!
