Patsy Patterson Jones

Patsy Patterson Jones, 80, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 surrounded by the love of her family. Patsy was born to Steve and Oma Patterson on December 28, 1935 in Cone, TX. Patsy grew up in Cone and would go on to graduate from Ralls High School. She met the love of her life Vernon Jones and they got married on January 2, 1955. Patsy worked at the YMCA here in San Angelo as a bookkeeper among many things for 28 years before retiring. She kept busy with her hobbies as a seamstress, cooking, working crosswords, and watching the Cowboys and Rangers. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Chris Shelton, and granddaughter Karen Jones. Patsy is survived by her son Dale Jones and special friend Nan Shamblen of San Angelo, Daughter Shirley Jones of San Angelo; three grandchildren Amanda Jones of Amarillo, TX, Ashley Ethington Nelson of San Angelo, TX, Austin “Bubba” Gregory Ethington; two great grandchildren Haylee Paige Nelson, of San Angelo, TX, and Jacob Wayne Perry of Amarillo, TX, two sisters Pansy Dunlap of Lovington, NM, and Mary Whitman of Lawton, OK; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Ty Hughston, Jay Michael Cornell, the nursing staff of Shannon four north and fifth floor, along with a special thank you to the skilled nursing staff of Shannon St. John’s Campus.
