Patsy Ruth Thornton Landgraf

September 18, 1932 — January 14, 2017

Patsy Ruth Thornton Landgraf was born to Buck Thornton and Gladys Barrett Thornton on September 18,1932 in Miles Texas. She graduated from Miles High School in 1950. She married Arnold Landgraf on January 4, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles Texas. They celebrated 64 years of marriage together. Patsy was a stay at home mom and was active in her two daughters schools, Brownies and Girl Scouts. Patsy was always supportive of her granddaughters as well; never missing a sporting event, choir concert or dance recital. "Granny" always made sure everyone was taken care of and had plenty to eat. Patsy was fun and always welcomed her daughter's friends over. Her funny phrases were titled "Patsy Ruthisms". Patsy was a devoted wife, daughter, Momma and Granny. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Charlene, and brother Buck. She is survived by her two daughters; Jan Landgraf, Judy (David) Olness, granddaughters; Julie (Blake) Scandolari, Taylor Olness, Whitney Olness and Macy Olness. She is also survived by a great granddaughter Paislee Grace Scandolari. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Zwarich officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Olness, Blake Scandolari, Travis Brown, Max Landgraf, Gary Landgraf, and Steve Olness. Special thanks to the caring staff of The Springs Memory Care Center and Angela Lassetter and Cynthia Montemayor with Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care of our mom. Also special thanks to her devoted caregivers Paulina Chambers, Jazmin Ramirez, Lucy Barley and Lolly Torres. The family requests donations be made to Give To The Cure - http://curealz.org We love you Momma and Granny! A Mother's love is something that no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . . It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . . It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . . It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . . A many splendoured miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand. by Helen Steiner Riceg
