Phil proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years. Phil would tell you he took his Senior Trip to Vietnam. He later served on another mission in support of Vietnam in Search and Rescue. He finished his military career flying cargo missions and finally in training and simulation. This experience launched his second career in Simulation Program management working for The Boeing Company and other defense contractors. Phil was the pioneer of turn key simulation relocation methodology. He sold his brainchild to the industry and successfully founded his own business along with his partner in business and in life, his wife Kathy. Phil was given the opportunity of a lifetime to work for a U.S. firm in Europe, and some of the happiest times of his life were during this long-term assignment. Phil was later called out of retirement, more than once, by the industry to work on special projects. Phil loved loud family gatherings and watching his grandchildren grow up. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins Pirates, even in the years with little to cheer about. But his greatest sports love was his Ohio State Buckeyes. There will be a wake on Thursday, August 16, from 5-8 at the family home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 17th, at Harper’s Funeral Home a 9:00 AM.
