Robert "Bob" Eugene Bailey

April 10, 1944 — January 2, 2016

Robert “Bob” Eugene Bailey of Richardson, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior January 2, 2016 at the age of 71 in San Angelo, Texas. He was born April 10, 1944 in Waco, Texas to John Morris and Cleo Bailey. He married Judy Lawson on August 3, 1974. Bob is survived by his daughter Susan Bailey Beaty and her husband, Stacy Beaty, and their five children: Avery, Savannah, Tucker, Charlotte, and Gentry all of San Angelo. Also surviving are his sister Evelyn Parks and her husband, Barton Parks, of Greensboro, NC and their daughters, Lisa, also of Greensboro, and Amanda of Richmond, VA. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Judy, of 34 years and their son, David Michael Bailey, as well his parents, John Morris and Cleo Bailey. Bob was a long time resident of the Dallas area where he lived for most of his adult life. He graduated from Mexia High School, but as the son of a Methodist preacher attended school in Weatherford, Eastland, Stephenville, and Corsicana. Following high school, he attended SMU for a short time, a year at Angelo State, and eventually graduated with and Accounting degree from the University of Texas. He worked for Hertz in New York City for 5 years following graduation before returning to Texas to open an insurance agency. He loved to garden, swim, play cards and dominos and was an active member of First United Methodist Church Richardson for 23 years. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made to the David Bailey Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church Richardson.
