Rodney Paul Keele

September 5, 1956 — March 17, 2021

On Wednesday, March 17,2021, Rodney Paul Keele was called to his heavenly home at the age of 64. Rodney was born on September 5, 1956, in Grapevine, Texas to Troy and Ruby Keele. The family later moved to San Angelo where he attended Lave View High School. Rodney loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army Infantry Division from 1974-1983. He then continued his military career in the Army National Guard. During his 15 years of service, Rodney did a tour of duty in Korea, graduated from the United States Army Aviation School and was awarded numerous medals and commendations. He discharged from the Reserves as a sergeant in 1989. Rodney loved the outdoors and found beauty in all of God’s creations. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, especially with his brother and grandson. Rodney had a creative mind and a variety of hobbies including photography and rock polishing. Rodney was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Elvis, a sister, Janice Rudd, and a niece, Jackie Holmes. He is survived by a daughter, Mistie Handy and husband Todd, son, Matt Healy and wife Heather, brother, Lee Harold and wife Mary, 2 grandsons, Jordan and Drew, 4 granddaughters, Averi, Kara, Sara and Sena, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Rodney also leaves behind his true love and fiancé, Lucinda Solis. Rodney was a member of Lifepoint Baptist Church. He was a devout Christian and had a close relationship with God. Rodney knew where he would have eternal life. There will be a family visitation time on Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 5-7 pm at the Lifepoint Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 10 am at Harper Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Harper Funeral Home, Regal Oil, and the Texas DPS for their assistance during this time. And Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me, shall never die.” John 11-25-26
