Shane Lee Kuykendall

We mourn the loss of Shane Kuykendall, born on October 20, 1980, who passed away on January 4, 2025. Shane was known for his loyalty, friendliness, and sense of humor. He embraced life enthusiastically and took great pride in being a loving father and a dedicated family man.


Shane is survived by his daughter, Riley Kuykendall, and her mother, Natalie; his mother, Evelyn "Resie" Cook; and his stepfather, Daryl Cook. He is also remembered by his uncle, Dewayne Kuykendall; his aunts, Charlet Schaule and Susan Wade; and numerous cousins. Additionally, Shane is survived by Robin Keefe, his second mom who loved him dearly, as well as his devoted friend and brother for life, Micah Mota.


Shane was predeceased by his father, Danny Kuykendall; his grandfathers, Buster Luckett, Lonnie Kuykendall, and Marvin Cook; his grandmothers, Nancy Mathis and Billie Cook; his cousin, Lonnie Kuykendall; and his dear friend, Bryan Owen.


An enthusiast of the outdoors, Shane loved fishing and camping adventures, often accompanied by his beloved dogs, Pearl and Wylie. He was also an avid sports fan, supporting teams like the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros, and the Cincinnati Reds.


One of Shane's proudest moments was becoming a father on October 6, 2020. He seized every opportunity to share important life lessons with his family, emphasizing that family is everything. His legacy of kindness and generosity remains a lasting gift to those he loved. Shane shared a very close and loving relationship with his mother, who affectionately referred to him as her "baby boy." She will deeply mourn his passing, as he was the reason she cherished her life, always loving and supporting him.


Shane's life will be honored with a graveside service on January 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Belvedere Memorial Park Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to donate to an animal rescue of your choice in Shane's memory.


As we remember Shane, we celebrate his outgoing personality, humble nature, and belief that he never met a stranger. His departure leaves a vast void, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
