Sid Clemmer

Sidney Lewis Clemmer, 75, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2018. He is now rejoicing in heaven with his Lord and Savior. Born March 18, 1943 to Harroll Clemmer and the late Louise Clemmer, Sid is survived by his wife of 55 years Judy; children: Stephanie Owens (Ralph), Shawna Eggleston (Lee) and Scott Clemmer; grandchildren: Jordan, Jarrod (Alexandra), and Jocelyn Owens and Olivia Eggleston; and great granddaughter, Hazel Owens. Sid is also survived by his father Harroll and siblings: Cecil (Fern), Sheila, Dennis and Shelayne Clemmer. Sid graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, TX in 1961, attended Abilene Christian College and the Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock. He was a Youth Minister in several congregations of churches of Christ. In 1988, Sid and Judy moved to Colorado and opened the Leadville Country Inn Bed & Breakfast, which they operated for 11 years. They moved back home to San Angelo in 1999. For many years, Sid worked with his father in various roles at the family owned RC Cola Bottling Company. For the past 19 years, Sid has been active in: the Johnson Street Church of Christ; mission work including Brazil and Nicaragua; and San Angelo community and civic service activities. Sid’s love of music led him to be an active member of the church’s praise team and the Twin Mountain Tonesmen for many years. In 2016, Sid fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening and operating an ice cream shop with his son, Scott. Together they perfected their love of creating delicious handcrafted creations at The Latest Scoop in San Angelo. Our family would like to thank the staff of St. Gabriel’s Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Sid’s nurses Rene and Darla, for their kindness and loving care during his illness. A Memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, August 9th at Johnson Street Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johnson Street Church of Christ, designated to the Brazil mission, CURA Medical mission, or Kids for Katali Kenya; or to the Rust Street Ministries, 803 Rust Street, San Angelo, TX 76903.
