Steven G. Bolz

Steven G. Bolz, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the age of 80 after an extended illness. Steven was born on November 28, 1937 to George and Joyce Bolz of Fruitland, Idaho where he was raised on the family farm. He graduated from Fruitland High and attended the University of Idaho prior to enlisting in the Air Force. After tours in Pakistan and Germany, he was stationed in San Angelo where he met his future wife Eugenia (Jean) Cunningham. Steve and Jean were married on March 14, 1964 and Steve happily took on the role of husband and father to James, Melissa, and Brenda. Steve and family enjoyed their travels to bases in many places including Alaska and Turkey, ending up back in San Angelo where Steve retired from the Air Force. He worked various jobs including his father-in-law’s business, Dix Key Shop. Steve, also affectionately known as “Papa”, had a very special place in his heart for his grandkids and great-grandkids and he was very special to them. The family enjoyed many happy times together enjoying his famous “brisket and ribs” and camping at their “ranch”. We will all miss Steve, husband, dad, papa, brother, and friend, but we know he is in a better place. Steve is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean; daughters Brenda (Rick) Lorey, Melissa (Charlie) Beard; grandchildren; Kim (Levi) Razics, Cassandra (David) Martinez, Clinton (Heather) Everhardt, Aaron (Aisula) Everhardt, Charles Beard, Molly Beard, Trisha (Travis) Britton. Great Grandchildren; Jacob and Madalyn Razics, Angel, Donavan and Jasmine Martinez, Trenton and Gissele Everhardt, Kaiden and Yasmina Everhardt, Luke and Willow Britton; brother, Darrell (Carol) Bolz and sister, Linda (Elmer) Hurd and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son James. We would like to send a special appreciation to all the nurses and assistants on Division 5 at Baptist Memorial. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Harper Funeral Home, and a graveside service will follow at 11:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Miles Cemetery.
