Thomas B. Beck

Thomas B. Beck passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Lubbock, TX. Tom was born in Austin, Texas to John and Stella Beck on January 19, 1931. He attended Austin High School and then he attended TCU before joining the Navy. Most of his tour was in Submarines. In June of 1970 Tom married the love of his life Nancy Dean and they were married for forty-five years. Tom graduated from Texas Tech with his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree. Mr. Beck worked for the Texas Health Department. He and his wife began their own business Beck’s Warp’n Weave in Lubbock. Tom was a member of the Board of the South Plains Food Bank for many years, was a Texas Master Gardner Emeritus and President of the Weaver’s Guild. He also received the RSVP’s 2016 Presidential Excellence award. Mr. Beck is survived by his wife Nancy Beck, brother Donald Beck, a granddaughter, grandson and favorite son-in-law. A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
