It's a sad and beautiful day, as family and close friends come together to mourn and rejoice the Sunrise: September 21, 1961, and sunset: March 5, 2025 of our loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son and Close friend Mr. William Marshall Sanders.
We lost a valuable piece in our lives, but GOD gained a beautiful ANGEL. William was known for his Big Heart and wonderful Smile. William always had a smile on his face and was always willing to give his last to anyone.
William is preceded in death by his Father: Billy G. Sanders Sr., Mother: Margaret Norris, Step Father: Edward Norris and Sister: Devera Sanders
William leaves behind his Brothers: Kary D. Sanders, Charles E. Sanders, Billy G. Sanders Jr (Gwen), Sister: Lela J. Young. He took most pride in his daughter Jennifer N. Smith (Brandon) and four grandchildren: JaTavion C.M. Sanders, Jadin S. Catlin, Jaceanna J. Catlin & John H. Catlin IV and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
William served proudly and with honors in the Marine Corps. He is a member and true servant of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ (Pastor Anthony E. Harris). He was born in Odessa, TX but raised in San Angelo, TX. After his daughter was born he relocated to Dallas, TX., which is where his daughter grew up. Then he relocated back to San Angelo, TX. He dedicated his last 14 Plus years to working at Texas Lone Star Beef in San Angelo, TX. William was a true friend to all those who encountered him and loved all his family very much.
William was a positive support grandfather to all his grandchildren and went above and beyond for all of them. His oldest grandson Jatavion, he was most proud of his accomplishments who is a Tight End in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers. He was Blessed to have been able to go watch his grandson play in Carolina this past year. His oldest granddaughter, Jadin, he was very proud of for she is studying to be a Surgeon at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. His youngest Granddaughter Jaceanna, aka NaNa, he was also proud of, for she is studying Cosmetology at I.T.S Beauty Academy in Denton, TX. And lastly his youngest grandson, John aka Junior who is a sophomore at Denton Ryan High School, who is a 3 sport prospect who is trying to follow in his big brother's footsteps. William's untimely death is a day that we will all remember. William will truly be missed and loved by all his family and friends. So we say to our brother, grandfather, father and friend, "Rest up, You are free of any pain now! We love you dearly!"
A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday March 14, 2025. A funeral service will be held at New Jerusalem at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 15, 2025 with burial to follow at Belvedere Cemetery.
